Every eFOLDi is built on a simple belief: reduced mobility should never mean a smaller life. eFOLDi is a multi-award-winning, founder-led business that designs ingenious folding mobility scooters, and in Australia the range is delivered and supported by eFOLDi Australia.
It started with a father and a daughter
In 2012, renowned designer and inventor Jianmin Wang injured his leg and was surprised by how few mobility scooters were genuinely light, safe and easy to use everywhere. So he sketched and built his own - and the eFOLDi was born. It gave him back his freedom, his friendships and, most importantly, his fun.
His daughter, Sumi, left a 15-year career to turn her father's invention into a legacy. She founded a specialist company to design products that improve the convenience, quality and enjoyment of life through easy mobility. The mission was to build an iconic brand for people with reduced mobility - one that stands for freedom, friendship and fun.
That mission has been recognised at the highest level. eFOLDi won the prestigious title of British Invention of the Year, and earned a personal endorsement from Sir Richard Branson, who described it as "folding magic" after a standout presentation at the Virgin VOOM awards.
